How Do I Start the Process?

It is simple, one call to Gateway Foundation for a free, quick, confidential assessment and recommendation 877-505-HOPE (4673).

What Level of Care is Right for Me?

There are different levels of care based on your specific needs. An assessment is needed to determine what is best for you. The options are:

How Long is the Program?

The program length depends on what your needs are. For some, outpatient care is all that is needed. These sessions can last three to six hours a day. For others detoxification is needed followed by a residential stay and a step down program to outpatient. This varies in length based on how one progresses through treatment. Typical detox can be 3 – 6 days, residential 26 – 30 days and outpatient 1 – 3 months.

Does Insurance Pay for This?

Yes, most insurance carriers pay for these services. Gateway is in-network with all major insurance companies, which means only a co-pay and deductible is the persons responsibility. Amounts vary based on policy and how much deductible has already been spent.

How Much Does it Cost?

Depending on level of care, length of stay and insurance, the cost can range from a few hundred dollars to around $ 816/day for residential with no insurance. Our staff can give you a more precise estimate before one commits to getting treatment.

Are There People Like Me in Treatment?

At all Gateway facilities you will be in groups with people just like you. Our age ranges from 18 – 60 years old and all ethnicities. We also have virtual treatment for adolescents that range from 13-18 years old.

Do I Have to Share a Room?

Our philosophy at our residential facilities is that everyone has a roommate or two, unless there is a medical issue. Addiction is a disease of isolation and loneliness. We believe that having a roommate is important to enhance your overall experience in treatment. Positive lifelong support and relationships often result from having a roommate.

Where are Your Programs?

We have 16 locations throughout Illinois, so we are never too far away. We also have virtual outpatient programs so even if you are in a remote location or don’t have transportation; you can receive care from your home or office.

What are Facilities Like?

Our facilities are well appointed and comfortable. Some are located on beautiful lakes, others in the woods or in urban or suburban locations. Our outpatient centers are located for ease and convenience, easy to get to driving or using public transportation. Our residential programs range in size from 12 patients to 100 patients. Each program is divided up into smaller programs, so no matter the facility size, they don’t feel big. We also offer gender separate programs, trauma programs, professionals programs, alcohol-use only programs, and gambling programs.

What are Your Programs Like?

Our programs all follow the same evidence-based curriculum centered on 9 core clinical components. Your treatment with be a combination of individual and group therapy, psycho-educational groups, specialty meetings, family involved therapy, expressive arts therapy, assignments, inside and outside meetings (based on COVID) and healthy recreational activities, as well as downtime for reflection and recharge. Your program is individualized and progresses as you progress through clinical milestones set up for you.

Do Your Programs Only Address Addiction?

All of our programs address both the addiction and any underlying co-occurring conditions such as depression, anxiety, trauma, obsessive compulsive disorder, etc. We have medical and psychiatric staff at each of our locations. We utilize appropriate medications if needed.

How Does Detox Work in Residential Treatment?

Gateway has round the clock nursing care to provide medication for the comfort and safety of our patients under the supervision of a physician. Our comprehensive team of professionals uses these medications to ease withdrawal symptoms, eliminate cravings, and block opiate receptors to help transition through the detox process. Our medical staff will discuss your options during your assessment with our counselors.

It is extremely important that you do not try detoxing on your own as severe medical complications can arise. You need to be under the care of a medical provider.

How Does Detox Work in Outpatient Treatment?

We utilize Medication Assisted Treatment in our outpatient program for maintenance and management of your ongoing sobriety. These medications are used to manage cravings and can assist you on your road to recovery. Your outpatient counselor will discuss these options with you.

I would love to thank the staff and of course my amazing counselor Adrain really helped me refocus my life on the right path without gateway I wouldn’t have made it thank you and I love this place I always come back to alumni meeting and events.

My family member just competed her 28 day stay she had a great experience the staff is wonderful and treated her with respect and went above and beyond to help her. Gateway saved my family members life. It was not easy finding a nice inpatient rehab and gateway made the whole process very smooth we are so thankful we found this facility. Thank you gateway.

Spent some time here and got some great tools to help me in my recovery. My counselors in the women’s unit were great and supportive. Love the monthly alumni meetings after treatment, great way to stay connected.

A little over 7 years ago I decided to seek treatment for alcohol and drug addiction and chose this facility as a place to try and arrest my disease and I have been clean and sober ever since. After 30 days inpatient treatment and 9 months outpatient I was able to achieve that goal. I recommend this facility to anyone who truly wants freedom from active addiction.

This place honestly saved my life. I was so bad my counselor said in the 2 years she was working there my case was the most unique she’s ever had, and now I’m almost 15 months clean!
