Gateway Foundation celebrates 55+ years of helping people build healthier lives by reducing substance use, other addictions, and improving mental health. Co-hosted by Gateway’s Board of Directors and Charitable Foundation Board, this event highlights the impactful work of the Foundation. We expect 250 community leaders, healthcare advocates, supporters, and alumni of Gateway Foundation to be in attendance.
This year’s event will honor the following award recipients:
- Friend of Recovery Lifetime Achievement Award: Michael Darcy (Former Gateway President & CEO)
- Ogilvie Humanitarian Award: Andrew Smith (Former Board Member & Chair)
- Gateway Advocacy Award: Representative Lindsey LaPointe & Senator Omar Aquino
- Gateway Volunteer of the Year Award Honorees: Claire Demos & Jorge Villanueva
Our Emcee will be Karen Jordan, news anchor and reporter at ABC 7 Eyewitness News. She co-anchors the #1 rated weekend newscast in Chicago, the ABC 7 Weekend News with Ravi Baichwal. Jordan, who grew up in Evanston, Illinois, joined ABC 7 Chicago in July 2003. 
Our Keynote Speaker will be Dr. Will Miller, a recognized expert in the areas of stress & coping, interpersonal relationships, organizational health, wellness, and workplace culture. A therapist and teacher at Purdue University, he lectures at the schools of Organizational Leadership, Management, and Mass Communication on the social environment of the workplace and the impact on productivity.
